Under the Moonbeam

I want to write you
Describe your body
To speak is not enough to feel
Let me write you in pieces
So I can have more
Than just one moment of you
Let me start from your feet
So I can describe every step you take
While I walk on your side
Let me follow your legs
So I can see your path
Through existence
Let me stop where we give birth
In case we discover
A certain way to love
Let me read your moles
Under the moonbeam
So I can see what stars have written on you
Before you were born
Let me hear your chest
So I can show you
How you resonate with life
Let me read your palms
And keep your secrets as we walk
I’ll keep them, I promise
I’m holding your hand
Let me see through your eyes
So I understand what I’m writing
Its not easy as it sounds
If I choose to leave
Have this poem as my gift to you
You won’t find answers for a why
You’ll find our moments
So you don’t forget
How it felt to become one for a while.
