Hi.
My Name is Seph, and this is my new project, Poetry Exchange.
I take my typewriter to the streets of Boston and exchange poems with strangers.
I type you one, you write me one.
This is my friend Cierra.
She's a photographer.
On August 10th, she came with me to the exchange.
She helped out and took pictures of me and all the poets.
All the photos you see here were taken by her.
First I set up.
Then I wait.
Then, I meet people. They meet me. We write poetry for each other.
All of the poems and pictures you will find below happened on Saturday, August 10, 2013. First you'll seethe poem I wrote, then the poem they wrote, and a transcription below their poem (just in case you can't read their handwriting.) Cierra took a portrait and some candid sof each poet which you can see after the poems.
This was a really special exchange. I learned something from every single poet who participated, and maybe you can too. Enjoy.
