When I Sing

Lucy Aiken

When I Sing
My spirits soar
High above the ground
My soul is lifted
I am taken to another universe
And for a short while I can drown Out
The Roar of my Thoughts
When I sing the pain ends, the noise stops
When I sing the happiness comes back to me
My confidence returns
And I feel like things might turn out alright
My confidence returns
When I sing I’m a winner, not a failure
I can be myself
Without being compared to anyone else
For the time being I am on a cloud
Floating….
Flipping….
Drifting….
When I sing the anguish ceases, the pain leaves me
And there is a Deafening Silence.
