My Lullaby

Ajda Stina Turek

Warm hands on my belly
In the cuddle of the night.

Your fingertips slowly trace my neck,
Soft kisses across my ears, a wish to me goodnight.
The sound of your voice soothes me all the time,
The smell of your body is so natural and kind.

You’re playing a melody so gently to me.
You know every note finds its own place to be.
Your fingers slide up and down the strings.
The heat of my body is giving me wings.

When you come close to the end, you stop for a while,
All you need is a cigarette and a smile.
Fumes all around us, you finish your song,
The smile on my face now is faded and gone.

You’re playing a melody so gently to me.
You know every note finds its own place to be.
Your fingers slide up and down the strings,
Playing the lullaby that lulls me to sleep.
